Adrenal Fatigue & DHEA

DHEA is one of the androgenic hormones secreted by the Adrenal glands. Levels of DHEA become depressed when you have Adrenal Fatigue. DHEA helps balance the effects of the stress hormone cortisol. Cortisol, when consistently high, is the major cause of wearing out the strength of your adrenal glands.

If DHEA is low, the effects of chronic stress increase and adrenals become even more depleted. Production of DHEA decreases with age, especially over the age of 40. When DHEA is low, we are less able to counter the intense effects of cortisol in our cells. This is why so many people, especially women, have Adrenal Fatigue.

What can DHEA do for you?

DHEA can help with:

Feelings of low energy Depression Waking up “feeling down” before the day even begins Mid-afternoon fatigue Needing increased effort to do your everyday tasks Feeling “fuzzy” and unfocused Decreased ability to handle stress Loss of libido Belly Fat Better Mood

The good news: DHEA is available over the counter and at a very reasonable cost. You will usually see improvement within 2-3 weeks.

The Recommended Dose:

Women: 10-20 mg daily Men 25-50 mg daily

NOTE: If you are already using progesterone crème and / or Pregnenolone, this is GREAT because they will also raise DHEA levels.

I have studied with Dr. James L. Wilson, who is considered the ultimate expert on Adrenal Fatigue. He is the author of “Adrenal Fatigue, the 21st Century Syndrome” He taught me that no one has to suffer this debilitating syndrome. So, NOURISH THOSE ADRENALS!
